Devonport and the Spirit of Tasmania

Devonport, Tasmania

The Mersey River was very still and the reflections beautiful in Devonport prior to the departure of the Spirit of Tasmania on its daily journey to Melbourne.

Mersey River and the Spirit of Tasmania

The captain of the Spirit of Tasmania certainly had to concentrate on the turn in the river with a very low tide against him. It was a slow turn and it looked as though the ship was too big to make the turn. I was holding my breath as it inched its way around to have the bow heading north to Melbourne.

Sailing at Last

Once completing the tight turn in the Mersey River the Spirit of Tasmania set to sail on its daily trip across Bass Strait.
