It is situated on the waterfront in Hobart, Tasmania. Proceeds are used to restore the original hut in the frozen southern continent.
Huskies
Huskies were the only means of transport in Antarctica in the early days of exploration.
All Australian Antarctic expeditions depart from Australia’s southernmost port of Hobart, Tasmania. This includes all supplies, equipment, scientists and other workers for between 6-12 months of the year.
Sailings into this dangerous part of the world is only possible for a few months of the year.
